2025–26 CAF Confederation Cup
The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup is Africa’s second-tier club competition. This edition is the 23rd CAF Confederation Cup and the 51st season of Africa’s secondary club tournament.
Schedule
- Qualifying rounds: 16 September – 26 October 2025
- Competition proper: 22 November 2025 – 22 May 2026
Teams
- 58 teams from 46 associations entered.
- The 12 highest-ranked associations can enter two teams; up to 68 teams could enter in theory, but that has never happened.
- Entries are based on the CAF 5-year ranking (2020–2025).
Draws and format
- Qualifying draw: 9 August 2025 in Dar es Salaam. Ties are home-and-away. If tied on aggregate after the second leg, away goals decide; if still tied, penalties (no extra time).
- 16 winners advance to the group stage.
- Group stage draw: 3 November 2025 in Johannesburg. The 16 winners are split into four groups of four, seeded by the CAF 5-year ranking into three pots. Each group has one team from each pot.
- Group stage format: Home-and-away round-robin. Winners and runners-up from each group advance to the knockout quarter-finals.
Prize
- The champions will face the winners of the 2025–26 CAF Champions League in the 2026 CAF Super Cup.
