2025 QRL Major Competitions
The Queensland Rugby League will run several major competitions in 2025: five men’s competitions and one women’s competition. Along with the New South Wales Rugby League, these leagues feed into the National Rugby League (NRL).
The Queensland Cup (sponsored as the Hostplus Cup) is the top men’s competition in Queensland. Nationally, it is a Tier 2 competition that feeds into the Tier 1 NRL. The Queensland Women’s Premiership (sponsored as the BMD Premiership) is the top women’s competition in Queensland. Nationally, it is a Tier 2 competition that feeds into the Tier 1 NRL Women’s Premiership. In 2025 the women’s season will align more closely with the NRLW, with Ipswich and Northern joining to bring the total teams to 12.
The NRLQ Series is an under-20s competition in Queensland featuring the four Queensland-based NRL teams, designed to bridge the Mal Meninga Cup and the Queensland Cup. In 2025 there will be no finals; the top-ranked team will be declared the winner.
