2024 West Virginia Democratic presidential primary

On May 14, 2024, West Virginia held its Democratic presidential primary. The state had 25 delegates to the Democratic National Convention, with 20 pledged and 5 unpledged. Joe Biden won with about 70.5% of the vote and all 20 pledged delegates. Jason Palmer finished second with 11.5%, while Stephen Lyons (withdrawn) and Dean Phillips (withdrawn) received 7.6% and 7.5%, respectively.

Lyons and Phillips did not reach 20% in any county, though Phillips was close in Logan County with 19.8%. Biden carried both congressional districts and won more than 80% of the vote in Jefferson, Kanawha, and Monongalia counties. His weakest county was Wyoming, where he won under 50%. Palmer’s best showing was in Wyoming County, with 24.2%.
