Jennifer Brady won the singles title, defeating Jil Teichmann in the final 6–3, 6–4. Brady did not drop a set or play a tiebreak on her way to her first WTA Tour singles title.
Defending champion Kim Da-bin could not participate. She won the 2019 event when it was a $60k tournament, but she was unable to compete due to ranking and travel restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic.
A notable moment came in the second round when Serena Williams faced Venus Williams. It was the first time the sisters had met in four different decades, and it marked the largest gap between their first and last meetings (22 years and 7 months). With Serena’s retirement in 2022, this was the final meeting in the Williams sisters rivalry.
In the quarterfinals, Shelby Rogers defeated Serena Williams. Rogers became only the fourth player ranked outside the top 100 to beat Serena in a main-draw match, and the first since Virginie Razzano at the 2012 French Open.
