2018 Oregon Ducks football team
The 2018 Oregon Ducks represented the University of Oregon in the 2018 college football season. They were led by first-year head coach Mario Cristobal after Willie Taggart left for Florida State, and played home games at Autzen Stadium as part of the Pac-12 North.
Coming off a 7–6 season, Oregon started the year ranked No. 24 in the preseason AP poll. They won all their non-conference games, then lost in overtime to Stanford. The Ducks then beat California and Washington, climbing as high as No. 12 in the polls, before dropping three of their next four. They finished fourth in the Pac-12 North with a 5–4 conference record and went 9–4 overall after defeating Michigan State in the Redbox Bowl.
Offense was led by quarterback Justin Herbert, who totaled 31 touchdowns (29 passing, 2 rushing). Running back C.J. Verdell rushed for 1,018 yards and 10 TDs. On defense, end Jalen Jelks earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors.
At Pac-12 media days, Oregon was predicted to finish third in the North, with Cristobal, Herbert, and Jelks in attendance. Four Ducks were selected in the 2019 NFL Draft.
