2011–12 in Cape Verdean football
2011–12 Cape Verdean football season: In the national championship, Sporting Praia and SC Atlético each scored 15 goals and finished first in their groups. Group A’s other notable team, Académica do Fogo, ended with 8 points and 3 goals, while Group B’s runner-up Académica do Porto Novo had 10 points and 10 goals. The top four teams moved to the semifinals, with Sporting Praia and SC Atlético advancing. Sporting Praia won on away goals in the first leg and claimed their ninth league title, later earning a spot in the first national Super Cup the following year. The season’s top scorer was Gerson of SC Atlético with 13 goals.
The fourth Cape Verdean Cup also took place, with all eleven teams participating for the first time. Onze Unidos won their only Cup title after beating Académica do Porto Novo 2–1 in extra time. The next edition would be held in 2018. If a club won both the league and the cup in 2011, the Cup runner-up would compete in the next event.
