The 2008 North Carolina Attorney General election was held on November 4, 2008, the same day as other state elections. Democratic incumbent Roy Cooper won re-election, defeating Republican challenger Bob Crumley by a large margin. Cooper received 2,538,178 votes (61.1%), while Crumley received 1,615,762 votes (38.9%). Cooper’s strong showing gave him the most votes of any statewide Democrat in the 2008 election.
