1991 Southend-on-Sea Borough Council election
The 1991 Southend-on-Sea Borough Council election was held on 2 May 1991 to elect one third of the council, 13 of the 39 seats. The Conservative Party remained in control of the council. In this election, the Conservatives won 6 of the 13 seats, bringing their total to 24. The Liberal Democrats won 4 seats, for a total of 9. Labour won 2 seats, for a total of 5, and an Independent Conservative won 1 seat, for a total of 1. The overall vote shares were: Conservatives 39.2%, Liberal Democrats 30.0%, Labour 19.1%, and Independent Conservative 4.6%.
