1982 Houston Cougars football team

The 1982 Houston Cougars football team represented the University of Houston in the 1982 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by 21st-year head coach Bill Yeoman, the Cougars played their home games at the Houston Astrodome and competed in the Southwest Conference, finishing fourth. They ended the season 5–5–1 overall, 4–3–1 in the conference. Team captains were Maceo Fifer, Greg Harmon, and Weedy Harris. The defensive coordinator was Don Todd (11th season). Houston did not receive a bowl invitation in 1982, the first time since 1977.
