Chelsea finished 13th in the First Division and reached the Fourth Round of the FA Cup. The club’s chairman was Charles Pratt and the manager was Leslie Knighton. Home games were played at Stamford Bridge.
Top scorer: George Mills — 22 league goals (23 in all competitions).
Attendances: Highest home crowd 64,463 against Charlton Athletic on 26 March 1937; lowest 13,225 against Manchester City on 3 February 1937; average home league attendance 32,461.
Biggest wins: 4–0 vs Everton (28 November 1936) and 4–0 vs Leeds United (16 January 1937).
Biggest defeats: 1–4 vs Arsenal (19 December 1936) and 1–4 vs Portsmouth (6 February 1937).
Paris tournament: In May–June, Chelsea competed in the Tournoi international de l'Exposition Universelle de Paris, reaching the final before losing to Bologna.
