1901 in Colombia
In 1901, Colombia was in the middle of the Thousand Days’ War, a bitter civil conflict between Conservative and Liberal forces. Across the country there were battles and skirmishes that disrupted everyday life, harmed farms and trade, and caused displacement.
The government tried to maintain control and push for victory, but no lasting peace was reached that year. Fighting continued into 1902, shaping Colombia’s politics and society for years to come.
