11th Alaska State Legislature (1979–1981)

The Eleventh Alaska State Legislature met from January 1979 to January 1981. It consisted of a 20-member Senate and a 40-member House of Representatives, with members from both major parties and one Libertarian in the House.

Senate: Notable members included Don Bennett (Republican, Fairbanks), W. Glenn Hackney (Republican, Fairbanks), Bettye Fahrenkamp (Democrat, Fairbanks), Jalmar M. Kerttula (Democrat, Palmer), Thelma Buchholdt (Democrat, Anchorage), Arliss Sturgulewski (Republican, Anchorage), Hugh Malone (Democrat, Kenai), Bill Ray (Democrat, Juneau), John C. Sackett (Republican, Galena), and others.

House: Notable members included Ramona L. Barnes (Republican, Anchorage), Fred E. Brown (Democrat, Fairbanks), Thelma Buchholdt (Democrat, Anchorage), Jim Duncan (Democrat, Juneau), Richard L. Randolph (Libertarian, Fairbanks) among many others.

Notes: Representative Bill Miles (Democrat, Anchorage) resigned on October 15, 1980; the vacancy was not filled.
