Åstrand test
Åstrand test. Purpose: Measuring VO2 max. The Åstrand test estimates VO2 max, the maximum amount of oxygen your body can use during exercise and a sign of cardiovascular fitness. It uses steady, submaximal cycling on a stationary bike with gradually increasing intensity while your heart rate is monitored. The heart rate and workload data are used to predict VO2 max without requiring maximal effort.
