Zainapora
Zainapora is a village in Shopian district in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is known as the land of springs because of its many natural springs. The village lies about 19 km from Shopian town, 4 km from Aglar, 17 km from Pulwama and 63 km from Srinagar.
Zainapora hosts a large horticulture department with some of Asia’s biggest orchards. The name comes from the medieval king Zain-ul-Abidin, who used to visit a Sufi saint living in the town.
In the 2011 Census, Zainapora had a population of 1,739. The sex ratio was 961 females per 1,000 males, and the literacy rate was about 70.0%, higher than the Jammu and Kashmir average.
The village is connected by road to Shopian and Pulwama via Aglar, and to Kulgam and Anantnag. The nearest railway station is Bijbehara. There is a Sub-district hospital and several other government health care centres nearby.
