Zaandam–Enkhuizen railway
The Zaandam–Enkhuizen railway is a Dutch railway line that runs from Zaandam to Enkhuizen, passing Purmerend and Hoorn. It is about 50 kilometers long and was opened in 1884–1885 by the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschappij. The Zaandam–Hoorn section is double-tracked, while Hoorn–Enkhuizen is single-tracked. The line uses standard gauge (1435 mm) and is electrified at 1.5 kV DC. It is operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen. The main interchange stations along the route are Zaandam, Purmerend and Hoorn. In Enkhuizen there is a boat service to Stavoren.
