Yomtob Kalfon
Yomtob Kalfon is an Israeli attorney and politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the Yamina party. He was born on June 16, 1986, in Sarcelles, France, and moved to Israel in 2004 to serve in the IDF. He earned a master’s degree in political science and political communication at the Hebrew University and studied parliamentary counseling at the Israeli Center for Political Training. He is the grandson of Yomtob Kalfon, who led the Keren Yéchoua synagogue in La Marsa.
Kalfon ran for the Knesset several times: he was 12th on the New Right list in April 2019 but did not win a seat, and later ran with Yamina in September 2019 (17th), March 2020 (17th), and March 2021 (11th), all unsuccessfully. He joined the Knesset in June 2021 after Ayelet Shaked resigned from the Knesset to become a minister. His term ended on May 15, 2022, when Minister Matan Kahana resigned, a move described as meant to strengthen the coalition. He returned to the Knesset in July 2022 after Amichai Chikli resigned. Kalfon is married with three children and lives in Beit Raban.
