Yahya Alampuri (15 June 1947 – 3 June 2023) was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar and educationist who served as the 7th Director-General of Darul Uloom Hathazari. He also held senior roles in several religious organizations, including senior vice-president of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, vice-chairman of Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh, amir of the International Majlis-e Tahaffuz-e-Khatm-e Nobuwat Bangladesh, member of Al-Haiatul Ulya Lil-Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh, and chairman of the Bangladesh Nurani Talimul Qur'an Board Chattogram.

Born in Alampur village, Hathazari Upazila, Chittagong District, Yahya completed his early madrasa education at Furqania section of Darul Uloom Hathazari and earned the Dawra-e-Hadith in 1973. His teachers included Muhammad Faizullah, Siddique Ahmad, and Shah Ahmad Shafi, who later granted him spiritual authorization (khilafah) in four Sufi orders.

He began his teaching career at Garduara Madrasa, then worked at Madarsha Madrasa and Ishapur Faiziya Tajbidul Qur'an Madrasa. In 1991, he joined Darul Uloom Hathazari at the invitation of Shafi, later handling the accounts, development projects, and serving on Shura committees. After Shafi’s death in 2020, he became a member of the three-person Majlis-e-Idari to run the institution. In 2021, after the death of Abdus Salam Chatgami, he was appointed director-general, a post he held until his own death in 2023.

He argued that Qawmi madrasa certificates should remain independent of government recognition, a stance aligned with Darul Uloom Deoband. He drafted Hathazari’s policy framework to be implemented through the Majlis-e-Shura and networks of alumni.

Yahya Alampuri died on 3 June 2023 at United Hospital in Dhaka. His funeral was held after Maghrib prayers, and he was buried in the madrasa graveyard. He was succeeded as director-general by Khalil Ahmad Qasmi.
