XEOC-AM
XEOC-AM, branded Radio Chapultepec, is a Mexico City radio station on 560 AM. It is owned by Grupo Radio Digital (Estéreo Sistema, S.A.) and broadcasts a mix of news/talk and Regional Mexican. The station signed on in 1958, with the call sign honoring its original concessionaire, Federico Obregón Cruces. It runs as a Class B station at 1,500 watts by day and 500 watts at night, transmitting from coordinates 19°26′49.38″N 99°12′7.81″W. You can listen live via its webcast at radiochapultepec.mx.
History: XEOC-AM originally played jazz, blues, swing, R&B and other classic genres, similar to XENK-AM 620. In late 2007, Óscar Obregón sold the station to Grupo Radio Digital, which renamed it La Nueva Pop with a pop format. In 2008 the format switched to talk radio. On January 31, 2010, at 11:59 PM CST, Radio Chapultepec stopped broadcasting to launch La Mejor AM after a GRD–MVS alliance; the new station carried a Regional Mexican format from MVS’s XHMVS-FM 102.5. The alliance ended on August 31, 2012, and the station returned as Radio Chapultepec. The station’s website is radiochapultepec.mx.
