Willie T. McArthur Farm is a historic farm in Ailey, Georgia. The original two‑room farmhouse was built in 1893 by Willie T. McArthur on 175 acres he and his uncle bought that year. In 1900, a larger Queen Anne style house was added, using the old house as a kitchen and dining area. Willie ran one of the largest farms in Montgomery County and served as president of three local banks. The farm grew tobacco and cotton as cash crops and by 1900 had many buildings, including a commissary, a school, a cotton gin, a turpentine still, and tenant houses. Willie’s sons, James and Donald, later raised hogs and cattle and also grew corn, peanuts, and pecans along with tobacco and cotton. The farm remained intact and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. The site includes a corn crib, a concrete-block store on U.S. Highway 280, a four-bin grain elevator, a concrete-block hog-birthing house, and a pecan-sorting shed.
