William Sorley Brown
William Sorley Brown (2 June 1860 – 15 September 1901) was a Scotland international rugby union player who played as a half back. He was born in Glasgow and died in Galashiels at age 41. He played for Edinburgh Institution F.P. and represented regional teams: East of Scotland District in 1880 and Edinburgh District in 1881. Brown was capped six times for Scotland between 1880 and 1883, scoring six points. He later became the 15th President of the Scottish Rugby Union, serving from 1887 to 1888, following James Stewart Carrick and preceding Robert Bruce Young.
