1913 in philosophy

1913 was a landmark year in philosophy mainly because of a major achievement in logic. Bertrand Russell and Alfred North Whitehead published the final part of Principia Mathematica, completing their project to base all mathematics on a strict system of logic. The work used precise symbols and rules to show that mathematical truths could be derived from logical foundations. This effort influenced the development of analytic philosophy and shaped later discussions about logic, language, truth, and knowledge. Beyond Principia, philosophers continued to explore how we know things, how language relates to the world, and how science fits with philosophical questions.
