Wharminda is a small locality on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, about 242 kilometres (150 miles) west of Adelaide. It sits in the District Council of Cleve and is part of the federal division of Grey and the state electoral district of Flinders. The name comes from a nearby spring and hills; Wharminda means "weak water."

The area is mainly used for farming, especially grazing and cropping, and it includes the Wharminda Conservation Park. The locality has a hall, library and tennis courts. Wharminda Primary School opened in 1914 as Wharminda Siding School and closed in 2008. A postal receiving office began in 1914, became a licensed post office in 1994, and closed in 1999. The Eyre Peninsula Railway used to have a siding at Wharminda, and the line still runs through the area.

The population was 19 people in 2021. The postcode is 5603. The climate is mild, with an average maximum temperature of 22.6 °C and a minimum of 11.5 °C, and about 357 mm of rainfall per year.
