Wellsboro Armory
Wellsboro Armory is a historic National Guard facility in Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Built in 1932 for Company I, 103rd Medical Regiment, it is a brick building laid out in an “I” shape, with a two-story drill hall between a two-story administrative section and a two-story garage. The armory was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 9, 1991.
Over time, the unit moved to Mansfield, and Charlie Company 3/103rd Armor relocated to 1810 Shumway Hill Road in 2003. The Wellsboro Armory building still exists but is no longer used for its original purpose; it now serves as the headquarters for Charlie Company 3/103rd AR. It currently houses six full-time personnel, including two recruiters and four maintenance staff.
A separate Mansfield facility was built in 2004 to train unit members, replacing a smaller older armory in downtown Mansfield.
