We Three (jazz album)
We Three is a studio jazz album by American drummer Roy Haynes, with pianist Phineas Newborn and bassist Paul Chambers. It was recorded on November 14, 1958, at Van Gelder Studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, and released in May 1959 by the New Jazz label (catalog NJLP 8210). The album runs 39 minutes and 29 seconds and was produced by Esmond Edwards. In Roy Haynes’s discography, it follows Jazz Abroad (1956) and precedes Just Us (1960). The trio had a short recording run, but this album shows they made the most of it with a strong, solid set.
