Watermill at Gennep
The Watermill at Gennep, also called Genneper Watermolen, is a historic watermill on the Dommel river at Genneperweg 143 in Gestel, Eindhoven, North Brabant, Netherlands. It is a protected national monument (Rijksmonument 14639).
The mill dates back to the 13th century, but it burned down and was rebuilt in 1587. It lies along the Dommel and was a banmolen, meaning local peasants had to bring their grain there to be ground. The mill has served as a gristmill, an oil mill and a fulling mill at different times.
In 1884, Vincent van Gogh lived nearby and painted the mill several times. The Watermill at Gennep was officially listed as a national monument on 15 August 1972.
