WVKY
WVKY (101.7 FM) is a country music radio station licensed to Shelbyville, Kentucky, serving the eastern Louisville metro area. It is owned by CapCity Communications (Southern Belle, LLC) and broadcasts the Froggy country format, branded Froggy 101.7 and 104.9, with a simulcast on 104.9 WFKY in Frankfort. The station has a long history of different call signs, and became WVKY in 2012 after ownership changes related to Clear Channel’s privatization. It originally aired on 101.3 MHz and moved to 101.7 MHz in 1996. The transmitter offers about 6,000 watts of power. Listen online at froggykycountry.com.
WVKY’s sister stations are WFKY, WFRT-FM, WKYL, and WKYW. Note: WVKY AM 1270 in Louisa, Kentucky, was a separate station that operated from 1970 to 1996.
