WSJG-LP
WSJG-LP, known as St. John Paul The Great Radio, is a non-commercial, low-power FM station at 103.3 MHz in Tiffin, Ohio. It serves Tiffin and parts of Seneca County and is the seventh Catholic station in the Toledo Diocese. The station is named in honor of Saint John Paul II.
It broadcasts Catholic talk programming from the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network and is owned by San Raphael Radio, Inc. The call letters WSJG stand for Saint John Paul The Great.
History and operation: The FCC granted the construction permit on February 12, 2014. Test transmissions ran from January 1 to January 27, 2015, when regular programming began. WSJG-LP officially started in late January 2015, and the local studio was completed in May 2015, at which point it began producing local Catholic programming. Until the studio was ready, the station aired EWTN via an audio feed from Toledo’s Annunciation Radio (originated by WNOC).
WSJG-LP operates as a Class L1 low-power FM station with about 100 watts of power and an antenna height of roughly 22.3 meters. The call letters were briefly used in 1991 by a different station in Hamlet, North Carolina (now WJSG).
