Virginia Velasco Condori (born October 11, 1980) is a Bolivian lawyer and politician from the Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS). She served as the sixth Minister of Justice and Human Rights under President Evo Morales from 2015 to 2017. She has been a senator for the department of La Paz since 2020. Velasco was born in Caicoma, Laja, Los Andes, La Paz, and studied law at the Salesiana University of Bolivia, graduating in 2014. As a lawyer, she defended indigenous women’s rights and, as minister, promoted inclusion policies and justice reforms, including the Justice Summit held on June 10, 2016, in Sucre. On June 26, 2024, after a coup attempt led by General Juan José Zúiga, Velasco Condori told reporters outside the Plurinational Legislative Assembly that Evo Morales was behind the coup.
