Vertentes is a municipality in Pernambuco, Brazil, in the Northeast region. It covers 196.3 square kilometers and sits about 401 meters above sea level. The population was 20,954 in 2020 and 21,959 in 2022. Residents are called Vertentense. The local economy relies on mineral extraction and farming, especially cattle, goats, sheep, and chickens.

The city lies in the Brasília Time Zone (UTC-3). Postal codes are 55770-000, 55774-000, 55775-000, and 55776-000. Vertentes was founded on 18 April 1892.
