Tropical & Subtropical Arboretum
Tropical & Subtropical Arboretum is a 9-hectare botanical garden and arboretum at the southern tip of Ocean Expo Park in Ishikawa, Motobu, Okinawa, Japan. It is open daily and free to visit. Established in August 1976 on the site of the 1975 Okinawa Ocean Expo, it proudly describes itself as Japan’s only tropical and subtropical arboretum with Okinawan climate. Its mission is education and promoting urban afforestation.

- About 37,500 plants representing 320 species of tropical and subtropical plants
- Herb garden, hedge and vine area, ground cover beds, and street trees
- Sections for salt-tolerant and wind-tolerant trees, palms, and shrubs
- An on-site aquarium breeding rainforest fish such as Arapaima, various Arowana, Catfish, and freshwater stingrays
