FIFA World
FIFA World was a free‑to‑play online football game for PC made by EA Canada as part of the FIFA series. It used an updated version of the game engine and let players compete with others online.

- Visuals: Lionel Messi often appeared on promo images and the title screen
Updates and features
- Version 6.0 (June 3, 2014): Redesign to feel Brazil‑themed for the 2014 World Cup
- National teams added to Single Player Tournaments; team kits updated for the World Cup
- Version 7.0 (August 22, 2014): Added video sharing of match highlights to friends, Facebook, or YouTube
- Version 8.0 (October 1, 2014): New items for the 2014–15 season in Ultimate Team
- Version 9.0 (November 5, 2014): Improved Impact engine (from FIFA 12) with about 2,000 new animations, new free kicks, new skills and celebrations; six new stadiums (including Villa Park, Liberty Stadium, and Veltins-Arena)
- Game modes included League Teams with promotion and relegation, and Ultimate Team where you build squads, buy players, and open packs with coins or FIFA Points
- Team of the Week featured weekly player packs with upgraded items
Rights and content changes
- Some leagues and clubs remained licensed, while the Brazilian Série A and many Brazilian clubs were removed in September 2014 due to rights issues
- The Turkish Süper Lig and its clubs were added in August 2014
End of service
- EA announced the shutdown of FIFA World servers on April 15, 2015
- Services ended on July 14, 2015, along with several other EA free-to-play titles like Battlefield Play4Free, Battlefield Heroes, and Need for Speed: World
FIFA World offered a free, online football experience on PC with evolving features, seasonal updates, and community sharing, but it was retired in mid-2015.
