In 2013 he gained attention for a viral video showing his wife, actress Sally Gifford Piper, being heavily photoshopped to radically change her appearance.
In 2014 he and Daniel Rosenberg produced Farmed and Dangerous, a four-part Chipotle webisode comedy series featuring his wife. The New York Times noted its strong influence on audience behavior.
He was executive producer on the Bravo sitcom Odd Mom Out, which ran from 2015 to 2017.
Under the name Timothy David, his debut feature film Kangaroo Island premiered on the closing night of the Adelaide Film Festival on November 3, 2024. Written by his wife Sally Gifford, the film was shot on Kangaroo Island and stars Rebecca Breeds, Adelaide Clemens, Erik Thomson, and Joel Jackson.
Piper is married to Sally Gifford, a Canadian actress, and they have two children. The couple divides their time between Australia and the United States and bought a holiday home on Kangaroo Island in 2016. They are dual citizens of Australia and the United States, and Piper remains co-owner of Piro.
He has earned several major advertising awards, including Grand Clio, Cannes Lions Grand Prix, and D&AD Pencils. Time magazine listed him as a Time 100 finalist in 2008, and Creativity magazine named him among the World’s Top 50 Creative Thinkers.
