Thorius troglodytes, commonly known as Taylor's pigmy salamander, is a small, lungless salamander that lives only in Mexico. It is found near the village of Acultzingo in Veracruz, in the northern Sierra Madre de Oaxaca, at elevations of about 2,380 to 3,000 meters. It inhabits pine-oak forests, including somewhat degraded areas, and hides under bark, logs, wood chips, and rocks. The species is endangered because its habitat is being lost to logging, livestock farming, and subsistence agriculture.
