The Greatest Hits is the soundtrack for the 2023 sci‑fi romantic drama The Greatest Hits, directed by Ned Benson. Two albums were released on April 12, 2024 by Hollywood Records: The Greatest Hits (Original Soundtrack) and The Greatest Hits (Original Score). The soundtrack features songs chosen for the film, while the score features instrumental music by Ryan Lott (Son Lux). Both albums were released the same day as the film’s streaming debut on Hulu, and were also issued as a double LP.

Original Soundtrack: Benson handpicked a set of songs from artists including Jamie xx, Roxy Music, Nelly Furtado and Peggy Lee. Music supervisor Mary Ramos helped curate them within budget and rights limits. The songs are meant to reflect the film’s story and mood. Some desired tracks such as Prince’s “It’s Gonna Be Lonely” and The Trammps’ “Can We Come Together” were not used due to budget or logistics. The order of tracks matches the physical CD/LP, and most but not all tracks appear on Spotify; all tracks are on Apple Music.

Original Score: Ryan Lott wrote the score, his second collaboration with Benson (their earlier project was The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby). For the opening montage, Lott created a sound that blends Los Angeles ambience with orchestral music, including a 40‑second cue that introduces the main characters. The film’s incidental underscore totals under 30 minutes. Lott also wrote the end‑credits song “Never Lost” with Nelly Furtado.

Reception: Critics noted the soundtrack’s eclectic mix of songs and praised Lott’s score. Variety called the soundtrack incoherently eclectic, while IndieWire called it fantastic. Others highlighted how the music supports the film’s mood and storytelling.
