The Digital Sisterhood is a Toronto-based podcast created by nine Black Muslim women. It is hosted by Cadar Mohamud and features interviews with Muslim women. The show grew out of Together Sisters, a youth program for Muslim girls. One founder, editor, and producer is Muna Scekomar, who previously interned as a producer for NPR’s Terrible, Thanks for Asking. The third season began in Spring 2023. The podcast won two Shorty Awards in 2023 — an Audience Honor and a Silver Honor in the Art and Culture Podcasts category. It has earned high rankings, including #4 on top new shows, #1 in Islam and Spirituality in the US, UK, New Zealand, and Australia, and the UK’s second most listened-to podcast. It also reached #1 in Self-improvement in the US, UK, and Australia.
