Talking Movies
Talking Movies is a popular film news show on BBC World News and BBC America. It covers movies from around the world, with reviews and exclusive interviews with Hollywood stars and other talent. The flagship half-hour program, created for BBC by Martin Everard and Tom Brook, started in 1999 after the end of Barry Norman’s film show. It airs as a 30-minute program on BBC World News, with shorter reports shown on BBC America during the week. The show has also appeared on BBC1, BBC2, and BBC News 24, and even on airline inflight channels. By 2012 it had produced over 400 editions and regularly covers major film festivals like Sundance, Cannes, and Toronto. Reports have taken the team to India and Brazil as well. Talking Movies has fans across Asia, North America, and Europe. Tom Brook is the main presenter and writer, often reporting from Times Square, and he is joined by reporters Manoush Zomorodi and Al Moloney. Each edition includes cinema news, a trend or issue story, and exclusive interviews with top stars.
