Table for Three
Table for Three is a 2009 American direct-to-DVD comedy written and directed by Michael Samonek. It stars Brandon Routh, Jesse Bradford, Sophia Bush, and Jennifer Morrison. The 93-minute film was released on June 23, 2009, by Starz Media.
Plot:
Scott, a recently single man known for rushing into relationships, invites a seemingly perfect couple, Mary and Ryan, to share his large apartment. Their inseparable, co-dependent dynamic soon disrupts Scott’s new romance with Leslie. Ted, a friend of the couple, explains that Mary and Ryan are rarely apart and need a third person to talk to. To shake things up, Scott decides to date each of them separately. With Mary, she reveals a desire for independence and new experiences, and Scott argues that couples should spend time apart. Meanwhile, Leslie discovers that the couple’s meddling has harmed her relationship with Scott. After a road trip to find Leslie, Scott and Leslie decide to give their relationship another chance. The couple, meanwhile, laughs at fooling them into thinking they were breaking up.
Reception:
The film was not well received by critics, who called it repetitive and dull, with the humor and characters not very convincing, though the cast did what they could with the material.
