Sylvia Wairimu Mulinge (born 1977) is a Kenyan businesswoman who has been the CEO of MTN Uganda since October 1, 2022, taking over from Wim Vanhelleputte. Before MTN Uganda, she spent years at Safaricom, rising to Chief Customer Officer (2018–2022) after roles including Director of Consumer Business and Director of Special Projects. She began her career at Unilever in 2004, and joined Safaricom in 2006, where she held several leadership positions such as Head of Retail, Head of Safaricom Business, and General Manager for Enterprise Business. Mulinge was named one of Kenya’s Top 40 Women Under 40 in 2014. In 2018 she was named CEO-designate of Vodacom Tanzania, but the permit was not issued, and she returned to Safaricom as Director of Special Projects. In 2026 she was listed among Uganda’s Top CEOs by Bossip Africa. She was born in Kenya and holds a BSc in Food Science & Technology from the University of Nairobi (2000).
