Stella Ambler (born September 29, 1966) is a Canadian politician who served as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Mississauga South from 2011 to 2015. Born in Etobicoke to Italian immigrant parents, she earned a psychology degree from the University of Toronto and later worked as a political adviser in Ontario. After raising her children, she moved to Mississauga and later to Wasaga Beach. Ambler was the Director of Regional Affairs for the Greater Toronto Area to Ontario’s Finance Minister Jim Flaherty. She unsuccessfully ran in 2008 in Bramalea—Gore—Malton but won in 2011, defeating Liberal Paul Szabo. She is known for her anti-abortion views, supporting private member’s bills to restrict abortion and serving as Chair of the Special Committee on Violence Against Indigenous Women in 2013, which produced a report on missing and murdered Indigenous women. The Liberal government later established a national inquiry. Ambler ran for re-election in 2015 in Mississauga—Lakeshore but lost to Sven Spengemann. In 2020 she moved to Wasaga Beach and announced a campaign to seek the Progressive Conservative nomination for Simcoe—Grey.
