Stein Urheim is a Norwegian jazz guitarist and composer born on March 4, 1979, in Bergen, Norway. He is known for his guitar work and his collaborations with Gabriel Fliflet and Mari Kvien Brunvoll. He released his first album, Three Sets of Music, in 2009 and won the Vossajazz festival award the following year.

Urheim and Brunvoll have recorded three well-received duo albums together: Daydream Community (2011), Daydream Twin (2013), and For Individuals Facing The Terror Of Cosmic Loneliness (2015), all on Jazzland.

They met around 2006 at the Grieg Music Academy in Bergen. Urheim played with Gabriel Fliflet’s Åresong band (2010–2011) and contributed to The Last Hurrah’s debut album (2011). He has also written for and performed on recordings by Steady Steele, Tom Sawyer & The Huckleberry Finns, Bearfarm, Thea Hjelmeland’s Solar Plexus, and Erlend Apneseth’s Nattsongar.

As a solo artist on Hubro Music, Urheim has released six albums: Kosmolodi (2012), Stein Urheim (2014), Strandebarm (2016), Utopian Tales (2017), Simple Pieces & Paper Cut-Outs (2019), and Downhill Uplift (2020).
