Statue of Melania Trump
A life-size wooden statue of Melania Trump was carved by Slovenian artist Aleš “Maxi” Župevc and installed in her hometown of Sevnica, Slovenia in 2019. Commissioned by American artist Brad Downey, the statue was carved from a poplar tree and painted powder blue on the dress and arms to echo her inauguration outfit. It was unveiled on July 5, 2019, and stands about 9 feet tall on the original trunk.
On July 4, 2020, the wooden statue was set on fire and removed. A bronze version was cast and installed on the same trunk, with the new statue unveiled on September 15, 2020. The bronze statue is also life-size and about 9 feet tall. The burnt statue was later shown in a seaside town near Sevnica. The statue was reported missing on May 15, 2025.
