State Highway 53 (New Zealand)
State Highway 53 (SH 53) is a 17.8 km two-lane road in New Zealand that connects Featherston with Martinborough. It’s part of the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail.
Route overview:
- Starts at SH 2 in Featherston at the Fitzherbert/Revans Streets intersection, then follows Revans Street to Boundary Road, where it becomes SH 53.
- Crosses the Tauherenikau River near Featherston and the Ruamāhanga River near Martinborough.
- West of the Ruamāhanga crossing there is a TOTSO intersection with Bidwills Crossing Road, which links Martinborough with Greytown.
- In Martinborough, SH 53 becomes Kitchener Street and ends at Memorial Square.
