Speedeez
Speedeez was a micro-scale toy car line made by Playmates Toys from 2002 to 2005. The tiny cars are about 1.5 inches long (roughly 1:100 scale) and have a plastic die-cast body, a hand-painted finish, and a plastic baseplate with a steel ball in the middle. The baseplate is attached to the body with rivets or screws, depending on the release.
Six models were released as glow-in-the-dark versions. The steel ball adds weight and lets the cars drift. Some models were licensed from real car brands, which appeared on the packaging. The main brands included Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford and Jeep. Some models were new to micro scale, such as the Jeep Jeepster, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Audi TT, BMW Z3, BMW Mini and Dodge SRT-4.
Some Speedeez reused molds from other toy lines or were inspired by Micro Machines and Funrise Micro Magnifier models. The cars were sold in blister packs and with playsets, and the packaging was designed by Bill Ticineto of Go Dog Design Group. Speedeez also released playsets.
