Sosnivskyi District
Sosnivskyi District is an urban district (raion) of the city of Cherkasy, in southern Ukraine. It is one of two urban districts in Cherkasy, and its Ukrainian name is Соснівський район.
The district was established on 22 December 1973.
Area and population: Sosnivskyi District covers about 43,135 square kilometers (16,655 square miles) and had a population of 149,732 people according to the 2001 census. The population density was about 3.47 people per square kilometer.
Location and coordinates: The district is part of Cherkasy Municipality in Ukraine. Its approximate coordinates are 49.4367°N, 32.0289°E.
Time zone: The district operates on UTC+2, with daylight saving time in summer (UTC+3).
Language: Based on the 2001 census, around 79.4% of residents spoke Ukrainian as their native language, about 18.4% spoke Russian, and 2.16% spoke other languages.
