Sobin Yamada
Sobin Yamada (1920–2008) was a Japanese Zen master in the Rinzai school. He served as the 26th abbot of Shinju-an, a subtemple of the Daitoku-ji Zen temple complex in Kyoto. Shinju-an is known as the memorial temple for Ikkyu.
Yamada studied at Hanazono University and Ryukoku University in Kyoto. A calligraphy work by him is in the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, commissioned by Yoshiko Kakudo.
