Shirt, also known as T.Shirt, is an American rapper and conceptual artist from Queens, New York. Active since 2009, his work blends hip hop with appropriation and performance art, and he creates writing, video, painting, public installations and clothing as well as music.

His debut album, Wild Thing, came out in 2009. He followed with Tan-Face Children in 2010, an 8-track EP inspired by Walt Whitman. In 2011 he released I Should Just Chill, led by the Raekwon-approved track Ode To Raekwon. The Fuck appeared in 2012, praised for its rich production. In 2014 he released Rap as a 30‑minute, single-track album on SoundCloud, and his 2015 projects included MUSEUM and the Records collection, plus the Rap Money EP featuring Nina Sky on the track “Let It Go.”

In 2018 Shirt signed to Third Man Records and released Pure Beauty, whose lead single Flight Home was produced by San Holo; the album received mixed reviews. He’s had other notable moments, such as the single On Top with Flume, which peaked at number 57 in Australia and went gold, and various tracks that appeared on TV and film soundtracks, including Silicon Valley and Stuber.

Shirt is known for his prolific video work and live performances, creating pieces like 24 Frames (Movie Night), Queens Cat and For The Record, among others. His visuals often reference minimalism with Duchampian nods to Black and Brown people in American society. He has also designed conceptual clothing, including a Nike–Adidas mashup that drew a cease-and-desist letter but continued producing limited pieces.

In 2014 he staged a viral art piece by faking a New York Times homepage, linking to a piece about his scene in the city.
