Hampshire Senior Cup
The Hampshire Senior Cup is a football competition run by the Hampshire Football Association. It started in 1887 and has been played most years since, except 1914–1919 during World War I.
Who can enter: The cup is open to teams affiliated with Hampshire FA, including clubs from Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Dorset, Wiltshire and the Channel Islands, as well as police and armed forces teams based in the county. Teams from all levels can enter, from the Premier League down to Level 10. Most entrants are non-league clubs, and Premier League or English Football League teams may opt out for a small fee.
Record and notable moments: The largest crowd at a final was 20,544 in 1932 when Newport played Cowes at The Dell in Southampton. The biggest winning final score was 9–1 in 2000, when Aldershot Town beat Andover. There have also been two 8–0 finals.
Current champions: Basingstoke Town beat AFC Bournemouth 1–0 thanks to a 95th-minute goal by Bradley Wilson.
Other notes: In 2012, Hawk-Eye goal-line technology was tested in the final between AFC Totton and Eastleigh. In 2013, Brockenhurst beat Andover Town on penalties after a 0–0 draw after extra time, winning 15–14 in the shootout in a record sequence of 29 consecutive penalties.
