Shetland Arts
Shetland Arts Development Agency, or Shetland Arts, is a Scottish charity formed in 2006 to replace the Shetland Arts Trust. Its aim is to encourage, promote and study all forms of art—visual, performing and creative.
Based in Mareel, the organisation runs Weisdale Mill (an art gallery, museum and cafe), the Garrison Theatre, and Mareel (the cinema, music and education venue).
Music is a big part of their work. They run Fiddle Frenzy, a traditional music summer school and cultural event.
Shetland Arts also plans to build a comprehensive database of Shetland music.
Its annual programme includes the Peerie Willie Guitar Festival, the ScreenPlay Film Festival, and the WordPlay Literature Festival.
Charity number SC037082.
