Sh 2-7
Sh 2-7 is an emission nebula in the Scorpius constellation, located about 650 light-years away. It sits near the star Delta Scorpii and next to a large reflection nebula called Sh 2-1. The nebula shines faintly (apparent magnitude about 18.6) and covers about 240 by 240 arcminutes on the sky. It is also known as LBN 1099. Some studies suggest Sh 2-7 may act as a Faraday screen, altering the polarization of light from nearby gas.
