Sharpless 2-307 is a faint nebula in the Puppis constellation. It may host an infrared star cluster called [DBS2003] 8 and lies in the Milky Way’s Perseus Arm. In small telescope images it looks compact, but longer exposures reveal that the bright area is only the center of a much larger cloud. The nebula has several catalog names: BRAN 50, Gum 7, IRAS 07333-1838, RCW 12, and LBN 1051. Its position is right ascension 07h 35m 32s and declination −18° 45′ 33″ (J2000). It is about 2,650 parsecs away, appears about 6 by 6 arcminutes in size, and has an apparent magnitude around 15.2.
